At
the CHA show in Las Vegas in February 2006 I visited Ranger's booth and
was attracted to their metalic Perfect Pearls powders. I found
them fun to work with and loved the way they covered clay and gave it
the appearance of metals. I happened onto the idea of using our
clay cutters as templates to apply the powders. Also in working
with the cutters and powders, I realized how handy my two inch aluminum
squares are! I can cut a shape, color it with powders,
then cure it right on the square without disturbing it. A
pair of pliers by my oven is the perfect tool to remove the hot squares
from the oven. As a result I've decided to offer the aluminum
squares for sale, they can be found by the dozen on in our
miscellaneous category, as well as some long nose pliers. To see
how I used the cutters and powders, click here.

Poly-Tool's "pro"
bead rollers are the ones that allow you to pierce the beads while they
are still in the roller. That saves having fingerprints and/or
distortion on the beads from handling. To see the process of making a
bead with the pro bead rollers,

The
tube bead rollers are gaining popularity quickly, as they are not only
handy for creating tube beads, they are great for rolling canes down to
a specific size. Also, using just the tube bead roller top, a bicone or
lentil bead can be rolled. Click here to see a tutorial for making a swirled lentil bead using the tube bead roller top.
